Parents and Carers

Our community of parents and carers are served by the school in three ways:

Regular School Communications and activities - to inform parents/carers about their child. This includes parents’ evenings, year group meetings, achievement awards ceremonies and activities. They also include an increased level of family support from our Inclusion Faculty for parents and carers. All events are listed on the school calendar. Contact; Reception

Extended Schools - this department runs a program of activities for parents and carers (and the wider community) and these include courses such as basic numeracy and literacy and parenting support groups. Contact: Dionne Thompson

Parents’ Groups

  • Parents’ Forum - this is a group which is run for parents and carers by parents and carers.We strongly urge all parents and carers to get involved. Contact: David Vail at parents@sns.hackney.sch.uk
  • Parents for Inclusion - for parents of children with Special Educational Needs. Contact: Claire Harding
  • Turkish Parents’ Group - Contact: Bedel Kibrit

We communicate with parents and carers in the following ways:

  • Spotlight - colour newsletter published in September, January and April, which reviews the highlights of the previous term. Also available online.
  • Spotlighter - a fortnightly newsletter that keeps parents and carers up to date with current activities and important information - sent home with students every second Friday (check the calendar) and again can be found online.
  • Text messaging service - reminders are sent out about meetings. Please remember to keep your contact details up to date - add link here to submit mobile number

We welcome feedback from parents and carers and send out a questionnaire every summer. Do please take the time to fill it in, but don’t wait until then if you have something you’d like us to know about.
